Gardaí in stand-off with man at house in Cork

Gardaí have surrounded a house in Cork as part of a stand-off with a man that has been ongoing for several hours.

The stand-off began at around midnight after gardaí were alerted to an incident at the house at Meadow Park, Ballyvolane, in the Mayfield area.

Gardaí say they are negotiating with the man, but it is unclear whether he is armed or not.
