A book of condolences is due to be opened in Dublin today for the late US Senator Edward Kennedy, who died yesterday at the age of 77.

A book of condolences is due to be opened in Dublin today for the late US Senator Edward Kennedy, who died yesterday at the age of 77.

Mr Kennedy's remains will lie in state tomorrow before his funeral on Saturday.

He is due to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington alongside his assassinated brothers, President John F Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy.

The eulogy will be delivered by President Barack Obama.

Members of the Irish public will be able to sign a book of condolences at the US Embassy in Ballsbridge for the next two days.
