IFA criticise Government’s phased payment of Waste Management Scheme
The Irish Farmers Association have said that the Government’s decision to pay the Farm Waste Management Scheme grant on a phased basis is causing farmers real hardship.
They said their incomes are already at rock bottom as they have been hit by the fall in commodity prices and the wet weather.
They also claim they are unable to take out new loans.
James Kane, IFA Farm Business Committee chairman, said that farmers are being put under severe pressure and losing money on a daily basis.
