Lenihan asked to explain breaking of recruitment ban

The Labour Party is demanding that Finance Minister Brian Lenihan publicly explain why he approved almost 200 new public sector job appointments despite the recruitment ban.

Described as special exemptions, 191 new positions were sanctioned by Brian Lenihan in the four months between March and June.
