SIPTU serves strike notice on Coca Cola Ireland

SIPTU has served strike notice on Coca Cola Ireland regarding plans by the company to transfer and outsource 130 jobs.

The union says its members voted in favour of the move after a meeting at the Labour Relations Commission yesterday.

The company says the transfer and outsourcing of jobs are necessary to reorganise its distribution and warehouse network in Ireland.

SIPTU says the firm is refusing to discuss any alternatives.
