Heroin seized in Cork raid

Gardaí have seized 1kg of what is believed to be heroin following a raid on a house in Blarney, Co Cork.

The operation was carried out by officers from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit at 10.30pm last night.

A 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested and are being detained at Gurranabraher and Bridewell garda stations under Section Two of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.

The drugs seized have a street value of about €200,000.

The seizure was part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of heroin in the Cork city area.
