Melissa Mahon to be laid to rest today
Murdered Sligo teenager Melissa Mahon is due to be laid to rest today.
The 14-year-old's remains were returned to her family following the conviction of 44-year-old Ronnie Dunbar for her manslaughter earlier this year.
Melissa disappeared in 2006 while under the care of the Health Service Executive.
Some of her bones were found near Lough Gill in 2008 after Mr Dunbar's daughters led gardaà to the site.
They revealed how their father had strangled the teenager, wrapped her body in a sleeping bag and dumped it into the River Bonnet.
Melissa will be buried today following 11am funeral mass at St Anne's Church in Sligo.
