TUI: 3,500 second-level teaching jobs will be lost

The Teacher's Union of Ireland says it expects more than 3,500 second-level teachers to lose their jobs following new figures released by the Department of Education.

The Teacher's Union of Ireland says it expects more than 3,500 second-level teachers to lose their jobs following new figures released by the Department of Education.

The figures show that, while enrolments at second-level will increase by around 3,000 this year, teacher numbers will fall by around 14%.
