Two rescued from boat in Dublin Bay

Two people had to be rescued from Dublin Bay earlier today after their powerboat capsized.

The four-metre vessel overturned shortly before 11am this morning close to the Baily Lighthouse at Howth Head.

They issued a mayday call, and the Irish Coastguard helicopter was launched in response.

Both people were winched from the water at about 11.20am.

Their boat has been towed to Dun Laoghaire.
