A yachtsman was rescued today after getting into difficulties off the coast of Co Cork, while the Coast Guard was also called into action to deal with fuel slick after two trawlers were found sunk in Howth Harbour.

A yachtsman was rescued today after getting into difficulties off the coast of Co Cork, while the Coast Guard was also called into action to deal with fuel slick after two trawlers were found sunk in Howth Harbour.

The Courtmacsherry RNLI lifeboat was called out at 3.45pm this afternoon to go to the aid of the 30ft boat which had developed steering problems off the Old Head of Kinsale, near Courtmacsherry Bay.
