Garda injured in Cork crash

The Garda Ombudsman is appealing for witnesses to a crash in County Cork in which an on-duty Garda was injured.

The collision between the Garda patrol car and another car happened yesterday morning in Fermoy on the junction between Emmet Street and the Cork road.

Firefighters who were called to the scene had to free two women who were travelling in the other car.

All three were taken to Cork University Hospital.

Their injuries were not life-threatening.
