Spawell pay row escalating after weekend robbery

The Mandate trade union says a pay row at the Spawell Leisure Complex in Dublin is escalating after a robbery at the centre over the weekend.

Staff at Mansion Nightclub, which is part of the Templeogue complex, were threatened by two armed raiders in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mandate says management has now told workers that it will not be able to pay them for two weeks.

The union says staff already have a number of pay-related problems with the company since the start of the year.
