Concern expressed about splintering of UDA
An SDLP assembly member has expressed concern that the UDA appears to be splitting into factions and could pose a renewed danger in some parts of the North.
John Dallat was speaking after groups of UDA men marched through several Protestant estates in Derry last week.
Reports over the weekend said one of the group's leaders - known as The Mexican - has split from the organisation's so-called Inner Council.
There was much optimism following confirmation last month that the UDA had decommissioned some of its weapons.
However, Mr Dallat is accusing the Irish and British governments of "pussyfooting" around the issue and is seeking talks with them to discuss how to address the situation.
