Society offers €1m towards bowel cancer screening

The Irish Cancer Society is offering the Government €1m to help pay for the establishment of a bowel cancer screening programme.

The society says it would rather it did not have to make the offer, but feels that nothing will be done to tackle the disease unless it provides some of the funding.
