A massive search operation for a Polish boy missing off the West Cork coast is continuing this afternoon.

Thirteen-year-old Matthias Latek disappeared with his father during a fishing trip at Cod's Head last Sunday afternoon.

A search operation was launched on Tuesday and the body of Piotr Latek was recovered on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old had been working in Kenmare for the past two years and his teenage son was on holidays when the tragedy happened.

Speaking to Cork's Red FM, Martin Sullivan from Castletownbere coastguard, said a large number of groups were involved in today's search.
