Electricians to decide on Labour Court recommendations

The Association of Electrical Contractors is meeting today to discuss whether or not to accept recommendations on pay increases for workers.

It follows recommendations from the Labour Court that electricians should receive a phased pay rise of almost 5% over the next 6 months.

Members will be balloted on the proposals this morning, but a result may not be known until early next week, as some members may need to consult their partners.

The Electrical Contractors Association, which represents about 50 major contractors, has already agreed to accept the recommendations.
