Police release man held over 1978 murder in Belfast
Police in the North have released a man arrested yesterday in connection with a murder in Belfast more than 30 years ago.
The 55-year-old was detained in Glenariff, Co Antrim, yesterday by detectives from the PSNI's Historical Enquiries Team.
However, he has since been released without charge.
The arrest was made as part of the investigation into the murder of Noel McKay at his home in the Ardmore Drive area of Belfast in 1978
At the time, police believed Mr McKay was shot by republicans in a case of mistaken identity, but the IRA denied any involvement.
