Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has announced the upgrading of several stretches of roads to motorway status.

The roads include sections of the N2 Dublin to Derry road, the N3 Dublin to Cavan road, the N4 Dublin to Sligo road, the N6 Dublin to Galway road, the N7 Dublin to Limerick road, the N8 Dublin to Cork road, the N11 Dublin to Wexford road, the N18 Oranmore to Limerick road and the N20 Cork to Limerick road.
