A woman dies after being found unconscious at house

A woman found unconscious in a house two days ago died in hospital tonight.

The woman was found in the property in James Street, in inner-city Dublin, at about 9.40pm on Friday and was taken to St James Hospital in a critical condition.

A man was arrested and remains in garda custody, but has been admitted to hospital because of a pre-existing medical condition.

A post-mortem examination on the dead woman is expected to take place tomorrow.

Gardai in Kilmainham are investigating.
