Police in the North were today given extra time to question two teenagers over the murder of a Polish man beaten to death in the border city of Newry, Co Down.

Police in the North were today given extra time to question two teenagers over the murder of a Polish man beaten to death in the border city of Newry, Co Down.

Detectives were given a extra 36 hours to question a 16-year-old youth and 24 hours extra to question an 18-year-old who they had previously been given an extra 36 hours to interrogate.

A 21-year-old woman also remains in custody being questioned about the murder of Marek Muszynski, 40, who lived in Newry and was found lying dead on a city centre pathway behind the local swimming pool in the early hours of Tuesday.

A 13-year-old boy who had been arrested for questioning about the murder was today released without charge, said a police spokewoman.
