Labour Court makes recommendations in electricians’ dispute

The Labour Court has presented its recommendations to both parties in the electricians’ dispute.

Both unions and employers' made submissions to the Labour Court earlier today.

Recommendations detailing the pay element at the centre of the row are beginning to emerge.

While the TEEU had been seeking an overdue pay rise of 11%, it is understood that a phased payment of 4.9% has been proposed by the Labour Court

It's recommending a 2.5% pay rise to take effect from the September 1, followed by a further increase of 2.4% from January

The TEEU is due to meet tomorrow to consider the recommendations of the Labour Court.
