Dublin shooting victim to be buried

The funeral of the 32-year-old man shot dead outside his parents’ home in west Dublin last weekend is taking place in the capital this morning.

Wayne Doherty, a father of two, died in hospital after being blasted with a shotgun in Hartstown last Saturday night.

He is believed to have been shot after trying to talk a gang out of carrying out a gun attack on a house in the neighbourhood.

His funeral service is taking place at St Ciaran's Church in Hartstown.
