The remains of one of the three young Irish women killed in the Air France plane disaster off Brazil have been identified among the bodies recovered from the sea.

Jane Deasy, from Dublin, was one of three Irish doctors on board the flight when it crashed into the Atlantic on June 1 with 228 people on board.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that her body had been positively identified by the Brazilian authorities.

A total of 51 bodies have been recovered from the sea along with hundreds of pieces of wreckage.
