New caps on EU roaming charges come into force

Roaming charges for using a mobile phone across Europe are due to come down today as part of new limits being imposed by the European Commission.

Under the new rules, phone firms can only charge a maximum of 11 cents to send a text message while travelling within the EU and 43 cents to make a phonecall.
