Display of cigarettes in shops prohibited from today

All advertising and display of tobacco products in shops is prohibited from today under strict new laws aimed at cutting smoking rates.

Cigarette vending machines are also being manned in all premises except bars and licensed clubs, where customers will have to purchase a token in order to use the machine.
