The group set up by the Government to recommend ways to cut public spending is due to hold its final meeting today before submitting its findings to the Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan.

The six-member body, which has been dubbed An Bord Snip Nua, is expected to recommend sweeping measures to reduce Government spending by between €5bn and €7bn annually.
