Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in his 20s today in connection with last month's armed raid on a cash-in-transit van in Lucan.

The man was detained this morning in the Foxdene estate in Lucan, close to where the raid took place.

Gardaí were lying in wait for the raiders when they approached the security van on Foxborough Road in Lucan on May 15.

Armed officers opened fire on two men, killing 27-year-old Gareth Molloy, from Sherriff Street in Dublin's north inner city.

The second man is recovering from his injuries.
