Cowen to hold talks with religious orders today

The 18 religious orders involved in the controversial child abuse indemnity deal are due to meet the Taoiseach today to update him on their plans to make further contributions towards victims.

The orders promised to make a further contribution following the outcry prompted by the recent Ryan Report into the widespread abuse of children at religious-run state institutions.
