A former Securicor worker on trial for a €2.28m "tiger kidnapping" told gardaí he laughed when he saw Mr Paul Richardson try to squeeze his cash-laden vehicle between two other vans the morning of the robbery.

Mr Niall Byrne (aged 27), of Aughavanagh Road, Crumlin, said in interview that other colleagues were also laughing at Mr Richardson’s haste to get out of Securicor’s Rialto base and onto the road.
