A forecourt attendant who stole nearly €50,000 from a transport company through credit card fraud at the garage where he worked for 28 years has been given a four-year suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A forecourt attendant who stole nearly €50,000 from a transport company through credit card fraud at the garage where he worked for 28 years has been given a four-year suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Patrick Lawless (aged 46) recorded the payment card numbers of lorry drivers from the company and later manually input the numbers, billing an amount to the company and then took this amount in cash from the till.
