Man guilty of handling stolen kegs

A man found in Co Meath with 450 stolen kegs of beer and stout two years ago is to be sentenced later at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A man found in Co Meath with 450 stolen kegs of beer and stout two years ago is to be sentenced later at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Karl Carey (aged 23) had 180 kegs of Guinness, 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 kegs of Carlsberg Lager at Julianstown on November 28, 2007 when apprehended by gardaí.

Carey, of Jamestown Road, Hampton Wood, Finglas pleaded guilty to handling stolen property.

Judge Katherine Delahunt remanded Carey on continuing bail until his sentence date in December when facts of the case will be outlined.
