Cowen to cut ministerial pensions by 25%
The Taoiseach is reportedly set to enforce a cut of 25% in the ministerial pensions of sitting TDs who have refused to give up the payments voluntarily.
At present, sitting members of the Oireachtas who previously served as Government ministers receive half of their ministerial pension entitlement, despite the fact that they still earn lucrative salaries as TDs and Senators.
