A Co Offaly priest has reportedly upset parishioners by disparaging children sent to the notorious Daingean reformatory.

Fr Tom Coonan allegedly described these children as "ruffians" who were not wanted by society during a sermon at St Joseph's Church in Ballingar yesterday.
