Cowen avoids criticism of leadership at party meeting

The Fianna Fáil leadership is understood to have faced intense criticism at a parliamentary party meeting in Dublin last night.

A large number of speakers are reported to have criticised the selection process for candidates ahead of last week's local elections, which saw Fianna Fáil's council representation reach an historic low.
