Fine Gael say the electorate have no confidence in Govt

The main opposition party have said the electorate has no confidence in the current government.

Fine Gael said the public's views have been outlined very clearly in the results of the local elections.

Fianna Fail and the Greens have lost seats across the country, with Fine Gael, Labour and Independents benefiting.

Director of Elections Brian Hayes said the status quo is no longer acceptable to the Irish people.
