A number of Jewish students are sitting the Leaving Cert English Paper Two this morning.

Over 50,000 other students sat the re-scheduled paper at 4,000 exam centres around the country yesterday.

But 10 Jewish pupils were unable to sit the exam for religious reasons as it fell on a Saturday, which is the Jewish Sabbath.

English Paper Two was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but had to be postponed after it was mistakenly distributed to students in Drogheda, Co. Louth.
