FG gaining seats nationwide

Fine Gael are making gains in the local elections all over the country.

Fine Gael's Eoghan Murphy has been elected to Dublin City Council for the Pembroke/Rathmines area, while Maura Maguire-Lynch has been elected to Cavan County Council on the first count in the Belturbet area.

In Co Mayo, Eddie Staunton has been elected to the County Council there on the third count in the Ballina electoral area.
