A national exit poll carried out by Lansdowne Market Research shows a major drop in the Fianna Fáil vote from the last local and European elections.

A national exit poll carried out by Lansdowne Market Research shows a major drop in the Fianna Fáil vote from the last local and European elections.

The survey has put the party on 24%, down eight points on five years ago.

Fine Gael is up 6.5% to 34%, Labour is up 5.5% to 17%, the Greens on three percent, Sinn Féin on 9% and Independents and others on 13%.

The exit poll surveyed over 3,300 people and has a margin of error of less than 2%.
