INOU calls for urgent action over jobs crisis
The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed has called for urgent and large-scale action to address the unemployment crisis.
It follows a 13,500 jump in the number of people signing on in May bringing the live register total to 400,000.
Brid O'Brien of the INOU said she is not optimistic about the future job prospects for people who now find themselves on the dole.
She also believes the problem is likely to get worse before we see a reversal of the current trend.
