Over 100,000 cigarettes with an estimated street value of over €40,000 have been seized at Dublin Airport.

Over 100,000 cigarettes with an estimated street value of over €40,000 have been seized at Dublin Airport.

The L&M and Marlboro cigarettes, were seized from a number of passengers who arrived in the country on a flight from Vilnius, Lithuania.

Officers also intercepted a car driven by a Lithuanian man, which contained 32,000 cigarettes and €18,000 cash.

The seizure was made as part of an operation targeting a Lithuania-based gang.
