Cowen claims his leadership is not under threat

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has insisted that there is no threat to his leadership regardless of the outcome of the local, European and by-elections on Friday.

According to opinion polls at the weekend, Fianna Fáil's popularity is at an all-time low of just 21%, and the party faces losing its Dublin MEP.
