Parties to hold final election news conferences

The main political parties are to hold their final news conferences in Dublin today ahead of Friday's local and European elections and the by-elections in Dublin Central and Dublin South.

A broadcasting moratorium on election issues is due to come into effect at midnight.

Fine Gael and Sinn Féin are due to hold press conferences this morning, while Fianna Fáil, Labour and the Greens will do so in the afternoon.

Polling stations open at 7am on Friday morning.
