Minister meets groups representing abuse victims

A number of groups representing child abuse victims are meeting the Minister for Children today to discuss the Ryan Report.

The Aislinn Education and Support Centre, Right of Place Cork and SOCA Dublin are due to discuss the Government's response to the Ryan Report with Minister Barry Andrews.

During a similar meeting last week, victims' groups pressed the Government to introduce statutory guidelines on child protection and to hold a referendum on the rights of the child at the same time as the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
