Two in court after prostitution ring bust

A 39-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman have appeared before Laganside Magistrates Court in Belfast on human trafficking and prostitution charges.

It follows a major police operation across the UK targeting a prostitution ring.

Six women were rescued from brothels in Belfast and Derry on Thursday - it is understood the Chinese women were brought to the North after they were promised jobs as nannies or cleaners.
