Three held over armed robbery bid
Armed gardaí today foiled an attempted gunpoint hold-up of a Dublin pharmacy.
Three men were arrested and a firearm was recovered following the incident on the South Circular Road at 2pm.
Gardaí said no shots were fired and nobody was injured.
“Armed gardaí who were on patrol in the area responded to the incident,” said a Garda spokesman.
Three men, one armed with what appeared to be a handgun, entered the pharmacy at 2pm.
The armed gardaí arrested the men at the scene. One man is aged in his 20s, one is in his 30s and one in his 40s.
They were being detained at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
