Lenihan says Govt will support Anglo Irish Bank
Finance Minister Brian Lenihan has said the Government will provide whatever money Anglo Irish Bank needs to remain afloat.
Media reports suggest the bank could need another large capital injection from the Irish taxpayer after it reveals its half-yearly results this week.
The Government nationalised Anglo in January in order to save it from collapse, but reports over the weekend said the bank may need up to €3.5bn from the Irish Exchequer to stay afloat.
Speaking in Dublin today, Mr Lenihan said the Government would "provide any working capital that is required".
