Hanafin considering diverting dole money for jobs

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs says her department is examining the possibility of diverting social welfare cash to a scheme to save jobs.

Mary Hanafin says the funds would be aimed at keeping employees in a three-day week rather than losing their jobs.

She made the comments at the annual conference of the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed who say more detail is needed on the scheme.
