Armed gang raid hotel
Detectives were today hunting an armed gang who robbed a safe from a hotel in Co. Carlow.
Two staff members and a resident at the Lord Bagenal Hotel in the village of Leighlinbridge were locked in to a store room as the raiders took a sum of money.
Four masked men armed, with a shotgun and a knife, carried out the raid at around 5.30am.
Gardai in Carlow are trying to trace the whereabouts of a grey Ford Focus, registration number 08 CW 2478, which was stolen by the raiders as they made their escape.
No one was injured in the incident.
