Man missing off Co. Clare coast rescued

A man who was reported missing of the Co. Clare coast has been found safe and well.

A major search operation was launched shortly after 5pm this evening after the 60-year-old's boat did not return as scheduled.

It is believed the boat took shelter along the coast after communications had been lost.

The vessel was located in Doonbeg harbour shortly after 6pm this evening.

The Shannon based Irish Coast Guard helicopter and Marine Rescue units were involved in the search.
