Schools to fall silent for famine victims
Schools across Ireland will fall silent today in a poignant tribute to those who died during the Famine.
The mark of respect is one of a series of events leading up to Sunday’s first annual memorial day for the 1.5 million people who perished or emigrated during the Great Hunger.
